Areas of Law / Personal Injury

I was exposed to asbestos dust 35 years ago when I used to lag pipes for a building company, and my doctor tells me I will now have to give up work. I have tried to find my old employer but the company ceased trading many years ago. Am I too late to claim compensation?

Not necessarily. Your old employer was almost certainly insured against claims such as yours. If the company no longer exists you might be able to “restore” it so that you can claim compensation from its insurers. If you only recently developed symptoms (which is not uncommon in the case of asbestos) you may still be in time for making a claim. See a solicitor specialising in such claims immediately.
