Areas of Law / Employment

I started work with a firm but I didn’t go back the next day for various reasons. I have written twice to get my day’s pay but to no avail. How do I go about getting this money?

If the firm had time to issue you with a contract and you signed it you should check to see if it says anything about this situation; otherwise write to your employers telling them you intend to bring the matter before an employment tribunal unless they pay you within 14 days. You can apply for a tribunal hearing by filling in a form at the job centre. It’s cheaper than suing the firm in the County Court.
