Areas of Law / Wills and Probate

I am a widow. Will my two children automatically be entitled to share my assets when I die, or will my brothers and sisters also have a claim if I don’t make a will?

Your estate will be divided solely between your children. Under intestacy rules where there are children the other relatives will not receive anything. It costs so little to make a will though that I recommend you do so; it will make it easier for your children to sort out your affairs and you may receive useful advice on how to avoid paying inheritance tax unnecessarily.
