Areas of Law / General Legal Advice

Last year I received a cold call from a company stating that they could reclaim about £1600 for me from mis-sold PPI. At the end of the call I realised I had given away too much information and contacted the bank to cancel my credit cards, However, a sum of £800 had gone from my account several days later. Do I have a claim against the bank?

I’’m afraid you will have to read the fine print of your credit card agreement, which is likely to warn you against giving your card details to unauthorised persons. It could be that the sum was removed from your account instantly but only showed up on your statement some days later. If you can’’t resolve this with your bank you can make a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
