My daughter is nearly eleven. She had an adverse reaction to an immunisation jab when she was a baby, and she was left with a bad scar. She is very conscious of this now. Is it too late to do anything about it at this stage?
The time limits that apply to adults in negligence cases don’t apply to minors until they reach the age of 18. If you believe a mistake occurred while your daughter was receiving the injection you should see a solicitor specialising in such cases. However some scarring is normal, and parents are usually warned they can leave a mark (which may diminish as the child grows). You would have to be able to show not only that an error was made but that this was as a result of negligence.
