Areas of Law / Employment

A relative has made numerous anonymous allegations about me to my employers, the Department for Work and Pensions and now Social Services. Each time I have proved my innocence, but it has left a sour taste where I work. I don’t want to get involved in a slander case, but is there anything I can do to stop her doing this?

You would only be able to sue your relative for slander if you were able to prove that she was responsible for the “anonymous” allegations. Even so it’s not something you would embark on lightly because of the expense involved. A solicitor’s letter might make your relative take notice but surely your best option is to have nothing more to do with her so that she has no information about you to work on.
