Areas of Law / Personal Injury

My wife has been off work for 12 months since contracting food poisoning at the private nursing home where she worked, and the health department was involved. She has heard nothing from her employers in all this time. Is she entitled to any form of compensation?

If environmental health officers carried out an investigation they will no doubt have produced a report on the food poisoning outbreak. Assuming they discovered who or what was responsible, it should be a fairly straightforward matter to determine liability, and whether your wife is entitled to compensation. If she has been ill for a year her claim could be substantial. I suggest she contacts a solicitor specialising in personal injury claims without delay.
